TorBox offers four tiers. This page covers what each plan includes and which is appropriate for Stremio streaming use.

Understanding slots in a streaming context
TorBox's plan differences are primarily structured around concurrent slots — the number of files that can be actively downloading at once. For Stremio streaming, this matters less than it appears:
- Cached content does not consume a slot — it plays instantly from TorBox's servers
- Uncached content temporarily uses a slot while TorBox downloads the file in the background
For typical streaming use, the majority of requests will hit cached content. The slot limit is most relevant if you are using TorBox as a download service in addition to streaming.
Which plan should you get?
Essential — recommended for most users
At $3/month, Essential gives you everything needed for Stremio streaming:
- 3 concurrent slots
- Unlimited downloads
- 200 GB max torrent size — covers any movie or TV episode
- 1 Gbps download speed
- API access and 3rd party app support (required for the Bootstrapper)
The free plan lists no API access, however in practice it has been confirmed to work with the Bootstrapper and Stremio addons. It is still limited for streaming use due to the 10-download monthly cap, 10 GB max torrent size, and reduced speeds — but it is usable for testing the setup before subscribing.
Standard — for heavier use
5 concurrent slots, 14-day seeding time. A reasonable step up if you frequently access uncached content or use private trackers.
Pro — full feature access
10 slots, 1 TB max size, 80 Gbps speed, 30-day seeding, and full Usenet access. Intended for power users. Most streaming-only users will not need this.
Payment methods
TorBox accepts credit/debit cards, PayPal, and cryptocurrency.
Annual plans are available at a lower effective monthly cost. If you have confirmed the setup works on the free plan and intend to use it long-term, annual billing is the more economical option.
